Any high tea that I can attend in my Birkenstocks is one for me. Actually let’s rephrase that. If I can attend one in my Birks and NOT feel like a TOTAL imposter, then I’m totally sold. Don’t get me wrong: I love to have fun with fashun, but I also feel my most comfortable self in a pair of mom jeans, a stripy tea and my old faithful sandals – rather than a dress and heels.
At Sweet Cillie’s though, you can come as you are, in your Birkenstocks or looking the most fab in your best dress; with your bestie for a girl date, or even with the kids in tow. Either way, you’ll be made to feel right at home attending Cillie’s new High Tea at her gorgeous little cakery in Tokai.
Cillie’s is all about that homey feel, and that extends into her bakes. Cucumber sandwiches, veggie quiches, teeny tiny lemon meringues, DELICIOUS carrot cake and chocolate cheese cake dusted with gold glitter all found their way onto my plate. Sipping on an excellently brewed cup of Terbodore coffee (since visiting their birthplace in the Midlands last year, which you can read about here, it’s become one of my favourite roasts), and chatting away to some new peeps, I couldn’t have felt more at home.
Sweet Cillie’s will be hosting High Tea on the third Saturday of every month, but seating is limited, so don’t forget to pop on over to their website and make that booking!
So, when we going for tea?
